Storm Statistics

The National Safety Council (NSC) cites more than 60,000 weather events from 2018 to 2021, and it costs billions to repair the damage these events inflict year after year. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) calculates $26.3 billion has been spent on severe storm repairs as of July 2023. The previous year, 2022, saw repairs reach $176.9 billion. This same organization states the third costliest winter event since 1950 occurred in December 2022, leading to a staggering $3.5 billion in insured losses.
